DAY 22

PORTUGAL. THE MAN

Went to a Portugal. The Man concert with my friend Colin. Awesome concert to say the least. I am shocked that they did not sell out the House of Blues in Boston. People really need to figure out what quality music is because these guys were incredible and should be much more popular. Check out the video! Also I missed some days here. New rule is no something news while im sick. Sorry. lol no one cares.

DAY 21

BOSTON MARATHON TRIP

Today I went to watch the Boston Marathon with my friends for the first time. We are all runners from high school so it helps to have people who are interested in the same thing. This was more than visiting the marathon though. The main new thing was looking around Boston. I was not aware that their was such a big mall underneath the Prudential Center! Also we went to lots of little side shops and stuff set up for the marathon; such as Oakley, and a few food places. Also went into Marathon Sports for awhile to look at running shoes. Top of the line running store there.

DAY 20

RIVER PARK - TYNGSBORO, MA

The night was wearing thin and I still had not done anything. So instead of doing something completely pointless I did convince my sister to come to the new park in Tygnsboro with me. A park along the river where there use to be mobile homes is now completely different looking. Some ropes to jump into the water, grills, and open fields. Most likely will go there with the guys this year to play some sports and grill. Here's a crappy picture!

DAY 19

CAMPING ON THE ISLAND

Tonight we had our first camping trip on The Island. The name of the island and its location are to be unknown. Joining me was my friends Doyle, MacInnis and Evan. Here's a video!

DAY 18

FRONT HANDSPRING

Okay so some of these things have to challenge me. So I did something that I knew I couldn't do. That's all I am going to say. But this TOTALLY counts as a complete front handspring!

DAY 17

BENTLEY TRIATHLON

Today was the first official practice of the Bentley Triathlon team. Went well with about 12 of us there. Getting T-shirts soon and cannot wait! Would like to wear them to school a couple of times lol. Great way to advertise the team and get people interested. We just ran 3 miles and filled out a bunch of waivers and such. Can't wait to go into this full force next fall! Bentley Triathlon Team. (BTT)

DAY 16

MIT ONLINE CLASS

So I was looking for things to do tonight and then I remembered a while back that I once saw you could do online classes from MIT for free. These are all pre-recorded, but they come with the assignments and everything. Needless to say I took the first class of the semester on Computer Science and Programming. Specifically they were using the Python programming language. This is a fairly new language in comparison to others and I have not had any experience with it. But i downloaded the software and did begin playing around with it after the 50 minute online class. What he taught us was alot like what I know in the Java programming language so it was not to difficult. But anyways it was quite interesting and I will probably do the assignment later on and maybe even take the next classes. At a school like MIT it is clear that the professors are extremely good at what they do. Really kept me interested and the best teacher I have ever listened to for 50 minutes!

DAY 15

SCRAPBOOK

So I decided I am going to make my first scrapbook. This is just starting today, I didn't really get much done. But I collected things that I have started doing in the past 15 days and I am starting to put them all together. This should be a pretty good first scrapbook and a good way to look back at the ride I am going to be one for quite awhile!

I know crappy picture, but some day this scrap book will be sick.

DAY 14

YOGA

Pretty positive I have never done yoga before. No I didn't take a class or anything official. Hopefully these something news can be more like that when school is out. But for now I just got an online video and did a 20 minute yoga class. Did a couple warrior stances and the infamous downward facing dog haha. Quite interesting to d0o this as many triathletes swear by its benefits. But i think I need to focus on just getting my stretches in before I dedicate myself to yoga!

Ya I'm Cool, I Know

DAY 13

JFK AIRPORT, NEW YORK CITY

The biggest airport I have been to yet. Long layover so I thought I might be able to go into the city, but it looks as if the city is at least 4 miles away from the airport. Little to risky for me to try. However it was a very clear day and I could clearly see the city. Seeing this makes me know that one of these "something news" is going to be going to NYC this summer with my friends for a weekend. JFK was pretty awesome. Kind of like a big mall. Granted I was poor at the time and just ate at Wendy's haha. They do have pigeons in the airport which I found weird considering it seemed very closed off. However the airport in Michigan also had sparrows in it so who knows.

DAY 12

PHILADELPHIA, PA

First full day ever spent in the city of Philadelphia. Went down to visit my best friend who goes to school down here. To be honest I can not say enough good things about this city. Really has a great feel to it. Perfect combination of old and new. For the most part it is very clean. It is very people friendly and the architecture is beautiful. We spent all day biking the streets everywhere you can imagine in the city and it was absolutely great. We saw the art museum where Rocky ran up the steps, had the famous Philly cheese steak with whiz cheese at Jim's steaks, and soooo much more. One of the best days I have had in a long time. Can not state enough how much I loved the city here. It's like Boston/Cambridge but in my opinion much nicer. Went to Whole Foods for the first time which could count as something new as well. And now I feel like we have to start going there for our food from now on because it was that good. First time trying tons of organic fruit. Also watched the movie "Rubber" late last night which was quite interesting to say the least.

Lastly met some really cool people down here. Last time Tim brought up Javi who is awesome, and now I met Julie, Jordan and Christian. Some pretty cool kids, and hopefully some coming up to NH in a month or so to visit us which would be awesome. Overall this is the best something new yet. This idea is really starting to change the way I look at life and over these past 12 days I think I have done more and had more fun then I have in the last year. I can't wait to see where this brings me as I have so many more awesome ideas that I can't wait to act on.

If a few people can make such a negative impact on our world, I believe it only takes a few people to make a positive one as well.

DAY 11

DETROIT, MICHIGAN

So this doesn't count as really going into Detroit, but I did have a layover in Detroit so it is my first time there ever. And if you don't want to count that as something new then we can go with flying alone for the first time. That most def. counts as it was quite interesting figuring out how that works. And now I know haha.

DAY 10

JOIN FLASH MOB

Alright so today I was jammed and really having a tough time thinking of something so I had to go to google to save me. Next thing you know I'm signed up for a flash mob. Yes we aren't actually doing it until next month, but I am officially a part of it now. Looks pretty cool. Goofy as hell yes, but should be interesting and fun. Looks like its going to take place on the Boston common. Should be funny lol

DAY 9

NERO CONCERT

Best something new yet. Never been to an electronic concert before so this was quite the experience. First thing was that we got there an hour and thirty minutes early to make sure we got a good spot, and I guess these types of fans are busy getting high and don't show up early. So that was a plus. Next, there is no other concert like this genre of music. Absolutely crazy the entire time. By the end of the concert I had nothing left. We did get right in the middle up against the bar as you will be able to see in the videos below. I must also add that I was the only person all night that the lead singer took the time to lean over and touch. Ya I'm awesome. Also almost got in a fight in between bands. Some drunk guy about 3 "rows" back (standing room) was trying to move a little high school kid in the second row. I turned around and told him to leave the kid alone. Next thing you know the kid in the 3rd row is shoving the kid in the 2nd row and he's coming at me. Luckily I was talking to the guard earlier and right before he threw his fist the guard yelled at him. He backed off, but I could hear him talking about coming after me once the next band came on. Luckily his friends ended up taking him out and all was good again. Just me, Doyle, and a ton of girls, then eventually just guys again haha. Check out the videos!

DAY 8

COVER SONG

Okay I know I have been slacking, but this week will get better I promise. Today I simply did my first cover of a song on my own. Unfortunately I am not putting it up here because I did not get as far as I expected. However the song was "Let Down" by Dead by Sunrise and I will let you know in future posts if I go back and post it here when I am done!

DAY 7

LACROSSE

Today was my first time watching Lacrosse. Granted it was my 10 year old cousins game haha. That's really about it for today. Try to get back on track with some exciting stuff next week!

DAY 6

MULTISPORT RACES

Okay so I've been a bit time crunched so these will be short for two days. Saturday my something new was the races at multisport world conference. I did the 5k and the 1200 yard swim relay. Went with my cousins just like last year, but participating in these unique events is most totally something new!
